Bahamas-Sandals Emerald Bay
Sandals Emerald Bay is a 500-acre all-inclusive adults only, couples only Caribbean beach resort set along a one-mile stretch of white sand beach on Emerald Bay, Great Exuma, Bahamas. This all-suite resort offers a selection of 245 luxury accommodations with beachfront villas to gorgeous beach house rooms . There is an 18-hole Greg Norman-designed championship golf course, which is considered to be among the best in the Caribbean.
Greeted with champagne we were taken to the Club Sandals lounge where we awaited our butler to take us to our Beachfront Walkout Butler Villa Suite equipped with our own personal hammock right outside the door overlooking the ocean. At first glance on this property, you will notice the luxurious accommodations, pools and restaurants. You will be immediately impressed by the large pool with many cabanas, that are first come, first serve. Winding down the peaceful paths, you will start to get some glimpses of the unbelievably blue water. It doesn't get any "bluer."
This property has seven restaurants and three pools, including a large swim up pool bar. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The Entertainment Staff and bartenders keep the main pool hopping during the day, but for those who want peace and quiet, they can relax at the quiet pool or on the large beach. There are tons of water sports that are included in the package; such as, stand up paddle boarding, kayaks, windsurfing, sailboats, snorkeling and scuba. Sandals Emerald Bay also has a gorgeous Red Lane Spa on property. The Scents of Love couples massage is a must do. At night the entertainment schedule is fairly subdued, but you don't want to miss Heston in the Piano Bar.
The island is extremely quiet, but Island Routes offers some great tours to showcase this fabulous destination. A trip to Sandals Emerald Bay is not complete unless you swim with the pigs on the Exuma Cays Ocean Safari tour. This tour exemplifies the #LiveFunner motto of Island Routes!
Who should go to this resort? Couples who want a luxurious beach stay with a laid back, relaxed atmosphere. This resort is great for people who love a gorgeous beach and want to be close to the USA (only 40 minutes from Miami by plane). Avid golfers and tennis players will be in heaven here. Many Sandals promotions include free golfing for butler guests.
Who shouldn't go this resort? Couples who want to be in a highly active party scene day and night. Couples who want to go off property a lot for entertainment.
